Nicole said:
My fav childrens book is probably Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson. Beautiful descriptions that challenge the kiddos while also keeping their interest.
Gloria Richard Author said:
Hi, Nicole! Thanks for the visit and comment. Anything that challenges those great nieces of mine and keeps their interest gets my vote, too. In five years, I suspect they’ll be ready to blow my cover as a logic puzzle whiz kid. Until then, perhaps they can write their own book, Nana and Aunt Glowie Snore. Sound tracks available upon request.

I love Spork by Kyo Maclear; so sweet!
Gloria Richard Author said:
Curiosity about the pages behind a cover titled Spork have my B&N gift card wiggling its way out of my wallet. I love the name of your blog, Romi. Ah. The Dreamy Tree has notions of daydreams and cloud-creature-creations floating in my noggin.
Thanks for the visit!
Perogyo said:
Oooh this is my second favourite, but my first is Virginia Wolf, by the same duo, Kyo Maclear and Isabelle Arsenault.
Ciara Knight said:
Drummer Boy by Loren Long. I cry every time I read it to my boys. 🙂
Karen Rought said:
The first book I ever remember reading – and the one that I kept going back to – was The Monster at the End of this Book, starring Grover from Sesame Street. My original copy was WELL worn out. So I got a new one. 🙂
Sherry Isaac said:
Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret. Hands down, no contest. Read it a gazillion times. Could never figure out what Laura Danker was up to behind the A&P. Didn’t even know what an A&P was.

Charlotte’s Web immediately came to mind. This was the book that truly gave me a love of reading.

My teen books were all in French. I loved “Fantomette” and the Club of Five.
Gloria Richard Author said:
I’m not familiar with Fantomette, Carole. Perhaps it wasn’t translated into English? The title alone intrigues me.
Thanks for the visit!
Hildie McQueen said:
My Favorite kid/teen book is Island of the Blue Dolphins, never forget that story!
Gloria Richard Author said:
I remember reading that book, too, Hildie…several times. Thanks for supporting Children’s Book Week!

I have to choose just one? Seriously? You’re killing me here. 😉
Because I have so many favorites, I’m going to go with the one that first popped into my mind: The Van Gogh Cafe by Cynthia Rylant.
Gloria Richard Author said:
It doesn’t surprise me you had a tough time picking just one. If I listed all my favorites, my comment would qualify as a mini-novella. See you over at your blog.
Rebecca Hipworth said:
My favourite teen book would be The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin.
Rebecca Hipworth said:

Brinda Berry (@Brinda_Berry) said:
My favorite children’s book was The Boxcar Children. When I was a teen, I loved reading The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
Gloria Richard Author said:
Hey, Brinda. Knowing your bookworm personality, it surprises me you could narrow it down enough to put favorites in a short post. Thanks for nudging me into this hop. I’m seeing so many familiar titles from back-in-the-day. Oh, all right. I also wander and read in the Children’s Section at B&N.
Elizabeth said:
Go, Dog. Go! by PD Eastman
Megan Mitcham said:
There are so many, but the one my mother had to (Let me preface this by saying I was extremely carful with my books!) tape together and ultimately repurchase, because because I read it so much, was The Baby Unicorn by Jean and Claudio Marzollo. The story and pictures took me away to a magical place.
wcs53 said:

Gloria Richard Author said:
Rachel, I have a love/hate relationship with books that grab me. Love the read. Hate that I accomplish nothing, nada, zip until I finish the book. Thanks for stopping by for the hop.
airlia2012 said:

Thanks for the tweet out, Jeanne! Amelia Bedelia books are so fun. I stand in the children’s section and laugh-out-loud at them.
Junie B. has the same impact, although I sometimes cringe at misuse of words. It’s part of her charm, tho’, right?

Nina C said:
My favourite would be The Hobbit or the Harry Potter books
Nigel Blackwell said:
The Sneeches and Other Stories by Dr Seuss, simply because it was the book I liked the most and the one my dad would read the least. One of my greatest joys was, and still is, reading the very same book to my daughter and find she loves it too.
Cheers!
Gloria Richard Author said:
Aw, Nigel! I love the notion of you reading your favorite children’s book to your daughter.
Dr Seuss–all of them–were favorites of mine long past when it was *cool* to read them. But, the cadence, word play, and how-did-he-think-of-that wonder remains with me.
Cheers back atcha!
Shelby said:
I favorite children’s books were the American Girl series. Those books were the ones I learned to read with- and I’ve never been without a book since! Thanks for the giveaway!

Well, I”m not a mama, so I don’t read too many children’s books unless the cover grabs my attention at work(fairly often, to be honest). Young adult novels are a whole different blog, however. For middle-age, I like karma Wilson and also Mo Willems. My favorite when I was a kid was Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss. When I was a young adult, Are you there, God It’s me, Margaret by Judy Blume.
Gloria Richard Author said:

My favorite is Harry Potter series. Every book in it is amazing!
Gloria Richard Author said:
Another vote for Harry! Can you imagine being the agents who rejected Rowling’s queries? How anyone could read the first fifty pages of the first book and not fall in love with the read is beyond me.

Harry Potter!
Gloria Richard Author said:
YES, on Harry Potter. I read it as an adult and loved it. Confession time, I own the entire series, but chose not to read the final in the series. Not placed at Hogwarts? ARGH! The only thing that would force me into that last in the series would be a “spoiler alert” that Dumbledore rose from the ashes.
Sophia Rose said:

FB: Sally Michele Shaw
